NOTE:

For grade R registration the child MUST be 5 years old before 30/06/2017.

For grade ONE registration the child MUST be 6 years old before 30/06/2017.
Necessary Documents: (please bring these documents + 1 COPY OF EACH DOCUMENT with you to the school when you apply – forms are to be completed at the school office & NOT taken home)
1. The Child’s Original Birth Certificate + 1 COPY
2. The Child’s Original Current & Valid Study Permit is mandatory for ALL immigrants + 1 COPY
3. The Child’s Original Clinic Card + 1 COPY
4. The Child’s Original Latest School Report Card + 1 COPY
5. The Child’s Original Transfer Card (grades 2 to 7 registration)
6. Original I.D. documents of BOTH parents + 1 COPY (Death Certificates must be given in case of deceased parents & Original Letter of Authority from The Department of Justice as Proof of Legal Guardianship or Legal Documents as Proof of Guardianship)
7. Official Proof of Residential AND Work Addresses + 1 COPY (This document MUST be in the parents’/guardians’ names)
8. LSEN placement documents (Learners with Special Educational Needs) if applicable + 1 COPY
Stationery: You will be informed of the amount payable for stationery upon acceptance of your child – this amount will be for the workbooks, school diary, book covers & paper only. All other consumable stationery must be supplied by you the as the parent/guardian.
Fees:
In terms of section 39 of the South African Schools’ Act Parents/Guardians are liable to pay compulsory school fees at JOHN MITCHELL SCHOOL, as we are graded as a Quintile 4 School.

The school fee amount for 2017 will be determined at the Annual General Finance Meeting held on Saturday the 5TH of November 2016 at 13:00 in the school hall. A deposit on the first month’s school fees will be requested upon acceptance of your child. The amount of R600.00 may be requested. The current fees are:
Grades R; the school fees for 2016 are R6000.00 annually / R600.00 per month x 10 months
Grades 1 to 7; the school fees for 2016 are R5700.00 annually / R570.00 per month x 10 months
NOTE: if the full amount is paid before the end of March 2017 you will get a 10% discount of the current year’s annual amount!
